Background

I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science from University of Nottingham in 2018, under the supervision of Prof. Guoping Qiu. Before that, I completed my M.S. in Computer Vision from University of Edinburgh in 2013.

Current Position

Associate Professor, School of AI and Advanced Computing Programme Director of M.Sc in Artificial Intelligence

Research Philosophy

My research is driven by the goal of developing practical AI solutions for healthcare. I believe in bridging the gap between cutting-edge machine learning research and real-world clinical applications. My work focuses on three core areas:

  1. Digital Pathology - Making sense of gigapixel histopathological images
  2. Computational Pathology - Building intelligent diagnostic support systems
  3. Computer Vision - Developing novel algorithms for medical image analysis

VIBE Lab

I founded the Vision Intelligence & Biomedical Exploration (VIBE) Lab at XJTLU to advance research in computational pathology and medical AI. We are always looking for passionate students and researchers.

I am committed to educating the next generation of researchers in AI and computational pathology. I teach courses including:
